After spending the summer in the Black Hills of South Dakota Leah and I have moved to The Ozarks. I have taken a job with Ozarks National Scenic Riverways as their winter fire effect monitor. Leah continues to pursue school online at Regent University, and has about year left.
Not knowing much about the Ozarks before moving here we have found that yet again (Black Hills)it is not the most progressive place on earth. Like always, we have found that you find some of the most beautiful things in the places you least expect them to be. Other then Leah struggling with the phone company for almost a week and a half, trying to get DSL so she could take her midterms. We have found that while most of the food around here is fake (i.e. fried, processed, and caned) the people are not. The people around here are generally friendly and interested in getting to know you. Example: the other night while we're at a dinner listening to some music, Leah and Chris (a guy I work with) were asked to sing with the band which they declined. After the night had wound down we met the owner of the establishment, during which time he informed Leah and I that we were his neighbors and that he had met to introduce him self.
In other news I've been working for almost four weeks now and due to the fickle weather down here I have only been able to work one full week.
I've posted a few pictures of the area, and I hope you enjoy them
